Outbreak of epidemics returns to AA-held areas: International Report
A recent international report revealed the return of the outbreak of polio in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and neighboring governorates under the control of AA. The Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) explained in its weekly report that 11 cases of polio were reported. This comes as AA carrying out a new campaign against vaccines in Sana’a and continuing lacing obstacle before carrying out vaccination campaigns. In recent years, a number of viral diseases and epidemics have spread in areas controlled by AA as a result of the collapse of the health system and the obstacles placed by AA in the way of vaccination campaigns. UN and international reports confirmed the increasing spread of many diseases and epidemics due to the continued obstruction of the implementation of vaccination campaigns under the pretext that they are “unsafe.”
